Taking inspiration from popular films like Blade Runner, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, and Sin City, we were inspired to create an environment with dramatic lighting and nods to campaign photography.  Located at The Bradbury Building in Downtown Los Angeles, we welcomed guests through the expansive and iconic lobby, led them through a corridor of lights and as they entered into the pop up activation space.

Live music was performed by Venus X, an underground DJ from New York, who established the underlying mood for the guest experience as they saw the collaboration of apparel and footwear for the first time. Custom built fixtures provided a raw industrial aesthetic and tied in with the deconstructed wall displays used to showcase footwear.  For the launch party, apparel and shoes were merchandised behind removable glass panels to ensure security and presentation.

Starch’s responsibilities included everything from concept and environmental design through execution and tear down. The pop up store lasted two days, although quantities sold out in less than 24 hours.
